DAILY OBSESSIONS // ZARA, AFFORDABLE RUNWAY

I, at times, obsessed over certain affordable brands. Right now, I'm coveting Zara's current collection. Inspired by the Spring/Summer runway, Zara's latest collection has all of it and the best part that it's affordable. J'adore and I want it all. Here are some of the looks that I would love to add to my closet :)

DAILY OBSESSIONS // BLACK & WHITE ZARA

Is it me or did Zara literally go black and white in their new collection? Not that I'm complaining. It's nice to see that the black and white trend is making a big comeback. Black is the new black. The thing about black and white is the contrast with each other that makes it such a bold combination. Then when you add stripes, colour blocking and clean lines... now that's when you get my attention. I presume since the runway was pretty bold with geometric shapes aka what Marc Jacobs did for Louis Vuitton SS13 collection, it's safe to say that black and white will stick around for a bit longer. It is one of the most timeless colour combination and it just oozes sophistication.  So, I'm really loving what Zara did, with all the other brands showcasing colours and floral prints for Spring/Summer, I'm glad that Zara decided to be classically bold.

Now... let the oohhh-ing and aahhh-ing begin...

MONDAY STYLE FILE #13

Globes was last night and shockingly... I watched most of it. I'm normally not a fan of awards show because they drag on and on with jokes that don't really make any sense. But I'm so glad that Tina Fey and Amy Poehler were the hostesses. They were freaking fantastic. And shockingly, while watching the Red Carpet Arrival... I didn't particularly hate a specific dress. A lot of reds, bright colours and blacks. Simple and elegant dresses that walked along the red carpet. My favourite(s) would be hands down Julianne Moore in Tom Ford and Michelle Dockery in Alexander Vauthier. I've pinned my other fave dresses.

I just realised that these two dresses are complete opposites. But what both have common is that its just simply elegant. I've always been in love with Tom Ford's straight lines and bold contrast and he always has stunning silhouettes. Alexander Vauthier is a new designer that I've just discovered and looking through his other designs... I'm completely in love with it. It's elegant without being over-the-top. White and gold are currently my favourite combination and I just love how it has a bit of a Grecian feel. Perfect for Lady Mary.

LOOK BOOK // GIRLS ON BIKES

I think by far one of my favourite creatives I always look forward to seeing is from Free People. Their look books are always fun to look at and to be inspired. They released their January catalogue and I'm in love. Take a girl in a cute outfit riding a bike in Amsterdam, we get a great introduction to Free People's bike accessories. I just love this idea and getting inspired for some summer photo shoots ideas.

MONDAY STYLE FILE #12

Cara Delevingne is a British model walking at the most prestigious fashion week for the most well-known brands. I love her style especially because its simple but it has an edge.

BRANDS // MAJE

I've yet again fallen in love with another French brand, Maje
----
Judith Milgrom prefers to think that a garment has a soul and that it can tell a story. The history of Maje captures this delicate philosophy. Maje is the success story of a “fashion child” who was introduced to the art of crafting garments at a very early age. The story of Maje is that of a girl who has always been fascinated by fabrics, embroideries and lace, just like her mother and grandmother, from whom she learned.

BRANDS // KLAYA

Happy Holidays. I hope you all enjoyed your Christmas with your loved ones.
Mine was filled of endless plates of foods, family times and pastries galore.

----
Klaya is...
feminine, simple, fluid  and light.
Klaya want to be with all woman everyday with lots of class and be discreet...
It fits in the woman's life because it's a brand she can wear every moment of the day.

I discovered this brand during my shopping escapades at Canon Blanc. A new Parisian boutique that is run by the most adoring Parisian couple carrying all of the brands you would find in Paris. I got a shirt and I can't wait to see what they get in for the next season. Apparently, it's going to be marvelous.

So I'll leave you with this video of their Autumn/Winter 2012-2013 collection.

MONDAY STYLE FILE #11

The first thing that pops into my head when I think of Audrey Hepburn is... timeless
Her look is the epitome of classic sophistication. Pearls. Little Black Dress. Tiffany's.
Audrey Hepburn once said "My look is attainable. Women can look like Audrey Hepburn by flipping out their hair, buying the large sunglasses, and the little sleeveless dresses."
Yes. That is true we all can look like Audrey Hepburn. However, her style is part of her. Not everyone has that aura of sophistication. This is what I admire about her style.

RUNWAY // ZERO + MARIA CORNEJO PRE-FALL '13

Maria Cornejo really has a knack of creating the most amazing prints. Mesmerized.
A couple of years ago I tried on a Zero + Maria Cornejo dress but I regrettably didn't purchase it and it was one of those biggest shopping regrets. I still dream of that dress. So, if I do spot any of these items during any of my shopping escapades... I may be quite tempted to add it in my closet.
Because I'm in love. (Yes... I say that a lot) But LOOK at it!
