SPRING CLEANING

As you know the weather has been amazing! Yesterday, I decided I want to take out my summer clothes and put away my winter clothes. This process took the whole weekend because I got lazy after taking everything out of my closet. After sleeping on the couch... I decided to put away the clothes. 3+ hours later... My bed was empty from my clothes! And so excited to wear dresses!

I've decided to do a mini-challenge for the next 2 weeks. The premise is: I cannot wear the same outfit in the 2 weeks (but bottoms are the exception). I'll be posting the photos of the outfits. I decided to this after realising how much clothes I barely worn.

SUMMER IS IN THE AIR

Toronto is getting the best weather anyone can imagine especially in March. So it only means one thing... spring cleaning. I can't wait to put away those bulky sweaters and bring out my summer wear and perhaps add a couple of more new pieces to the wardrobe. This summer I think I may continue on with my bohemian chic look especially now that my hair is long enough for the braids. Yes. Indeed, braids galore.

I always thought I knew what's new in fashion but clearly not when someone mentioned to me about Rory Beca for F21! In love with her collaboration with Forever21! It's light and fresh perfect for the summer. Perfect for my bohemian chic look I'm aiming for.

I am in love with the Floating Feather Flounce blouse... it would match perfectly with my long salmon skirt and my roman sandals.  The Sheer Colourblocked Maxi Dress would be perfect for a day on the beach or strolling down Queen West.

And all of these pieces are under $40... what wouldn't you love about that?

TRAVEL // A PIECE OF NEW YORK

Well... as you know I'm back from NYC. And I just wanted to share with you one of my favourite buys if not the best buy I got from any place I've visited recently. The pendants are from pieces that the artist finds from his excavation in the New York grounds, most of the pendants are made from shattered plates, broken beer bottles, and sorts.

After brunch at Pastis in the Meatpacking District, Pothik, Jen & Jason decided to head back to SoHo but before heading there, we accidentally passed by an Artisan Market (where they sold mostly clothes, jewelry and sorts). One table caught my eye and I made my way there.

The lady who was manning the table was telling us stories some of the pieces and I was just floored of what she knew and that she knew where everything was made from. The one that Jason I believe is from a pendant from a lighting fixture. Prices weren't bad either. They range from $40-$80.

I bought this piece that had 4 pieces of different tiles that was excavated from Central Park that's dated back to the 1840's. (Forgot to take a photo of it.)

Each piece is one of kind. Each piece has a story behind it. Each piece is history. And I'll have a piece of New York forever. Amazing.

I'm sadly back from the city that never sleeps! I am in love with NYC and I cannot wait to go back again. Maybe in the summer... maybe! My laptop is broken... my luck with technology continues. So please be patient with my photo uploads! Until then....

TRAVELS // HELLO NYC!

Yes! I cannot contain my excitement for NYC! This time tomorrow... I'll be on a plane en route to the city that never sleeps. I'm so excited! It's been about 10years since I last went... I'm so excited!! So excited! My lovelies and I have been counting down... my google map is flooded with all these landmarks I want to hit... hopefully the 4 days will accomplish it! I don't plan to sleep. NOT AT ALL! So excited. Yes! Can you tell that I'm excited?

OBSESSIONS // SHOES GALORE

It's that time again... something about shoes in the summer and more specifically shoes that are sold in Asia. The parentals are coming back from their hibernation in South East Asia and my to-buy lists mainly consists of shoes. Shoes. Shoes. I don't know why... last time I went back I came back with NINE (9) yes... you heard me NINE NEW PAIR OF SHOES! Sadly... only a few survived because of the wear and tear. But that also means... new shoes in my collection.

I've been reacquainted with brands I fell in love with and was introduced to new brands. So far... I have a pair of wedges and flats. I can't wait to wear them come this spring/summer.

OBSESSIONS // OMBRE

 

First of all... sorry for being MIA. Work has taken over my life and by the time I get home I just want to sit in front of the TV and laugh.

Is anyone else loving the Ombre trend? In December I posted the dipped dress which is probably the beginning of my ombre love... It's a perfect gradient... where the colours continuously flow into each other as if it was meant to be there. It doesn't feel like it's out of place but that it's meant to be there.

Monique Lhuillier created the most precious ombre dresses (if I had the money and a place to wear it - I would get it lol). But then again I love most of her dresses... but something about her ombre dresses that takes the cake.

What do you think of the Ombre trend?

SHOPPING // CHARLIE'S BOUTIQUE

I first stumbled upon Charlie via my go-to-fashion-friend Dave. Last year, I was in a need for a dress for my friend's wedding and Dave suggested Charlie. And long and behold, I purchased a dress on my first time stepping into the store, a Yumi blush pink dress. I absolutely love it. Now, every time I go to Queen West, it is a must stop-over. Their recent tweets and posts have gotten me excited for the Spring/Summer and though the snow is continuously accumulating... I am counting down the days for some fun in the sun. They are getting new shipment every week and introducing new brands. I'm so excited to drop by this weekend, though my bank account will be sad. I welcome some floral and bold prints with a pop of colours!
