TRENDS // STATEMENT NECKLACES

So, I was in the Yorkdale area for a meeting and decided to pop in the mall for a bit especially since I rarely go there and it's the only place that has Top Shop. I walked through the Bay and the collared necklaces caught my eye. I feel that this season it is all about statement necklaces, be it collared or just an extravagant necklaces. It will indeed make your outfit even more special. Ironically though, while I was oohhh-ing and ahhhh-ing over the necklaces, I walked away with a cube ring from Top Shop. But here were some the styles that caught my eye.

TRAVEL // A PIECE OF NEW YORK

Well... as you know I'm back from NYC. And I just wanted to share with you one of my favourite buys if not the best buy I got from any place I've visited recently. The pendants are from pieces that the artist finds from his excavation in the New York grounds, most of the pendants are made from shattered plates, broken beer bottles, and sorts.

After brunch at Pastis in the Meatpacking District, Pothik, Jen & Jason decided to head back to SoHo but before heading there, we accidentally passed by an Artisan Market (where they sold mostly clothes, jewelry and sorts). One table caught my eye and I made my way there.

The lady who was manning the table was telling us stories some of the pieces and I was just floored of what she knew and that she knew where everything was made from. The one that Jason I believe is from a pendant from a lighting fixture. Prices weren't bad either. They range from $40-$80.

I bought this piece that had 4 pieces of different tiles that was excavated from Central Park that's dated back to the 1840's. (Forgot to take a photo of it.)

Each piece is one of kind. Each piece has a story behind it. Each piece is history. And I'll have a piece of New York forever. Amazing.

Sou Brette

Even though we are an ocean apart... D is the ultimate shopping buddy. Yesterday, he emails me with photo attachments of accessories by an Indonesian designer, Muqliza Imroni. And I am completely head over heels with her stuff: Sou Brette. I really could not decide for the life of me which style I wanted... but in the end I've decided on the Luminarie bracelet in blue within her Unknown Waters Collection. I cannot wait to see it in person!!

SHOPPING // TIFFANY'S

After years of eye-ing the black toggle bracelet from Tiffany's - I finally used up my gift cards and got it. And I absolutely love it. Now... what will be on my wish list next?
