MONDAY STYLE FILE #20

Oh yes! I'm having a girl crush moment with Carey Mulligan.
I am just so in love with her style especially when she went blonde and started to channel her alter-ego Daisy Buchanan. Ever since then her style has went from comfy chic to timeless chic.

MONDAY STYLE FILE #19

After re-watching the seasons of Sex and the City. I got curious with The Carrie Diaries and surprisingly I'm hooked. Before there was the sex... before there was the city... there was just me Carrie - Carrie Bradshaw. This follows the life of Carrie Bradshaw in the 1980's - during her high school years. What I am more mesmerize as per usual is the fashion. Will the 80's fashion trend continue to slowly come back?

MONDAY STYLE FILE #18

HUGE CRUSH ALERT! Ever since I watched Les Mis a couple of weeks ago... I can't help but crush on this London-boy, Eddie Redmayne. And it doesn't hurt that he can sing. He was just so charismatic in Les Mis, don't you think? Then my crush went just a bit more deeper when he was at the Oscars red carpet wearing a sleek black suit. Currently, the face of Burberry alongside Cara Delevine, his style is very much stream-lined chic and he pulls of this style with not much effort.

Happy Monday!

MONDAY STYLE FILE #17

If JGL was dorky cool... what could Andrew Garfield be described as? Geeky-boy-next-door-turned-superhero-cool, perhaps? (Oh that could work!) Andrew Garfield is the new Spiderman and I really like his portrayal of the character. It just fits him, not forced, it just fits like a glove. His style could be seen as down to earth along with his girlfriend, Emma Stone. Too adorable, I must say. He dresses down most of the time but when he needs to dress for the red carpet he adds his quirkiness to the mix: a mix of patterns here and there or if not, his signature hair is there to add something.

Happy Monday.

MONDAY STYLE FILE #16

I decided this week - let's talk about the boys. I feel that men's style have come along way from polo shirts and khaki pants... now guys are more daring to wear printed shirts and coloured pants. My favourite guy's style is Joseph Gordon Levitt. He does dorky cool so well. His outfits are always fun but he can also pull of wearing a nice black suit and tie. His GQ cover was just sweet perfection. :)

You are very welcome, ladies. Happy Monday!

MONDAY STYLE FILE #15

Work has been crazy. So sorry about the lack of posts last week. Hopefully, it'll calm down this week. :)
----
You may know her as Lady Mary in Downton Abbey, but Michelle Dockery is starting to turn heads as she graces the red carpets this year with her very elegant chic style. Her jaw-dropping gown by Alexander Vauthier (first photo) at the Golden Globes is what peaked my interest in her style and I thought what the hey... why not. Her style is nothing to extravagant but it's pretty much the main reason that I like about it. She dresses so elegantly and she just exudes extravagance in whatever she wears.

MONDAY STYLE FILE #14

I thought it just would make sense to do a Carrie Bradshaw Style File with the prequel, The Carrie Diaries, debuting last week. Who wouldn't want Carrie Bradshaw's closet? I mean did you see her walk-in-closet that Mr. Big built for her. *gasp* Carrie Bradshaw is the epitome of New York high fashion and probably every girl's dream to run around New York in Manolo Blahniks and tulle skirts in effortless style.

Welcome to the world of Carrie Bradshaw.

MONDAY STYLE FILE #13

Globes was last night and shockingly... I watched most of it. I'm normally not a fan of awards show because they drag on and on with jokes that don't really make any sense. But I'm so glad that Tina Fey and Amy Poehler were the hostesses. They were freaking fantastic. And shockingly, while watching the Red Carpet Arrival... I didn't particularly hate a specific dress. A lot of reds, bright colours and blacks. Simple and elegant dresses that walked along the red carpet. My favourite(s) would be hands down Julianne Moore in Tom Ford and Michelle Dockery in Alexander Vauthier. I've pinned my other fave dresses.

I just realised that these two dresses are complete opposites. But what both have common is that its just simply elegant. I've always been in love with Tom Ford's straight lines and bold contrast and he always has stunning silhouettes. Alexander Vauthier is a new designer that I've just discovered and looking through his other designs... I'm completely in love with it. It's elegant without being over-the-top. White and gold are currently my favourite combination and I just love how it has a bit of a Grecian feel. Perfect for Lady Mary.

Cara Delevingne is a British model walking at the most prestigious fashion week for the most well-known brands. I love her style especially because its simple but it has an edge.

MONDAY STYLE FILE #11

The first thing that pops into my head when I think of Audrey Hepburn is... timeless
Her look is the epitome of classic sophistication. Pearls. Little Black Dress. Tiffany's.
Audrey Hepburn once said "My look is attainable. Women can look like Audrey Hepburn by flipping out their hair, buying the large sunglasses, and the little sleeveless dresses."
Yes. That is true we all can look like Audrey Hepburn. However, her style is part of her. Not everyone has that aura of sophistication. This is what I admire about her style.

MONDAY STYLE FILE #10

So this week I've decided to do a Style File on this little tyke. Hudson Kroenig is the the 4-year-old son of model & Karl Lagerfeld's muse, Brad Kroenig. He first walked the runway at the age of 2 for Chanel. He is the godson and muse of Karl Lagerfeld. Could life really get any better? And like his father he has great style. I adore his wavy locks just like his dad's. Oh Hudson, you are too adorable. His latest runway show was at the Chanel, Pre-Fall 2013 where he donned a kilt. It's too cute for words. He also appeared on The Covateur and I didn't think I would be jealous of a toddler's closet but I am.
A closet full of Fendi, Chanel... just to name a few.

MONDAY STYLE FILE #9

Kirsten Dunst portrayed Marie Antoinette in 2006 that displayed the luxurious lifestyle of the French royal highness. Marie Antoinette's fashion sense was extravagantly amazing and I probably would consider her as one of the top style icons during her time. I love the pastel palette and the intricate details of the gowns. And her hairstyle is so over-the-top that I can't be mesmerize by it at the same time. When she became Queen of France she was a mere child, perhaps why she took a lot chances (some say it would be risque), but nevertheless, she inject some life in the French royalty with her personality and fashion sense. And also if you are wondering, Versailles is as extravagant as her clothes - I never really did get why they would live in a "house" that would take nearly half a day to walk from one wing to another.

MONDAY STYLE FILE #8

There's a je ne sais quoi about the way Parisians dresses. I've always been inspired by their sophistication and simplicity chic. And it's no wonder the for the second week I drew a style file on another Parisian actress, Marion Cotillard. She was most notably starring in the summer blockbuster, The Dark Knight Rises.
I just love Marion's style - it is sophisticated and simply chic. Wearing strong pieces that speaks for themselves without going over the top.

MONDAY STYLE FILE #7

You may remember Clémence Poésy in Harry Potter: The Goblet of Fire and in Gossip Girl as Chuck Bass' girlfriend. Her style to me is very Parisian, which is probably why I love her fashion sense. Mixing feminine with structure along with her wavy hair creates a very-much carefree Parisian style. And no matter what she wears she just looks elegantly chic and she could be the definition of what Parisian Chic - is all about.

MONDAY STYLE FILE #6

Whenever I think of Kate Moss. I think rocker chic with a touch of boho elegance. Her style is looking like she hasn't put much effort in her outfits and her carefree ways is what makes her style great. She mixes pieces that wouldn't normally go together inevitably creating something that is her own. I guess that's why her style appeals to me because I'm similar where I don't take anything as face value because I want to be set myself apart from everyone else.

MONDAY STYLE FILE #5

Alexa Chung is a designer's dream because of quirkiness and unique personal style. This is the reason why I love her style. She goes out of the boundaries and makes fashion fun, which is what we all should be doing. She mixes structure and avant-garde with her own twist.

MONDAY STYLE FILE #4

Aside from Pinterest, magazines, fashion blogs... I draw a lot of inspirations from my favourite TV characters who live for fashion. Zoe Hart is played by Rachel Bilson (The OC alumni) is now in CW's Hart of Dixie. Her character is a New York transplant that now lives in a small town in Alabama. I love her style because it's the polar of opposite of what the other characters wear on the show. Zoe Hart's style is fashion-forward but with a twist of her own. Her ability to playfully mix of textures, fabrics and prints - to make it work leaves me at awe. Tune in on Tuesday nights to be inspired by her wardrobe.

MONDAY STYLE FILE #3

As it is the last season of Gossip Girl, I thought it would be fitting to talk about their fashion. After all, the main reason why I watch the show is because of the fashion. This week it's all about Serena van der Woodsen. I always tend to like her fashion style more because it's more of what I would wear. Serena would take an outfit but remake it to create her own outfit that's fitting for her. She wears a lot of accessories especially long layered necklaces and arm candies. I would say her outfits are more daring in a way compared to her bff, Blair's preppy look. I would say that Serena's style is moreover bohemian chic with a rocker edge.

MONDAY STYLE FILE #2

So, this past summer I have discovered Downton Abbey and I am completely obsessed with it. It was a bit slow in the beginning but now it's on their third season and it's picking up. Aside from the story line and great character development, I am in love with their fashion. The twenties (aka the roaring 20's) have been one of my favourite fashion era... there's just something about the drop waist line, the endless laces, the amazing headpieces and the long pearl necklaces. The 20's to me is time when things were changing especially since after the first World War... practicality started to unfold especially for ladies' fashion. Yes. The 20's is a great period for fashion. And let's not forget about the hairstyle. I completely love it.

MONDAY STYLE FILE #1

We all remember her as the know-it-all Hermione Granger in Harry Potter, but now she's a fashion icon. Ever since she chopped off her wavy long locks, she has made the pixie haircut one of the hot hairstyles ever since Posh's bob. Emma Watson's style has also morphed over the years and she is one of the celebrities that I admire for her style choice especially in what she wears on the red carpet. It's daringly edgy yet at the same time it exudes elegance. So, Emma Watson kicks start our first Monday Style File
