HAIR STORY // WALKING DOWN THE AISLE

One of my good friends is walking down the aisle in May and this past week she dropped by to discuss veils and hairstyles... then it made me think. What would you do to your hair on your special day?
Up? Down? Half-way? Oh the choices, what is a girl to do.
Fret no more... Jenny (from Papery Whims) and I are here to give you some ideas.

The first style is very playful... this would be perfect with a flowy dress for an outdoor wedding.
The best part of this hairstyle is that loose pieces falling throughout the day adds more to the hairstyle.
*thumbs up*

HAIR STORY // URBAN BLACK

Take #2 of Hair Story (sorry for the slight delay) been swamped with projects.
This is the hairstyle when I realised that my hair is super long.
Well, the longest it's ever been since I was 8 years old.
When Jenny first saw my turban she was like "you need to wear this everyday." Though, that seems to be the majority response. I got it 2 years at Charlie's but I think I've only worn it a couple of times.
Turbans are fun to wear especially when you want to make a 'boring' outfit more fun.
I just never realised that I could do more to my hair except for leaving it down.
And this is why Jenny is the hairstyle guru and I'm just the noob.

HOW DID IT GET SO LONG?

Sorry for the very late post... I got caught up with project after project. Here's a little sneak peak to next week's Hair Story. As I was going through the photos from the weekend - I can't help but be so mesmerize by how much my hair has grown. When I saw the shot after it was taken I turned to Jenny and was like "NO way... this can't be my hair." Unfortunately though, it's not long enough to do a braid crown probably because of the layers upon layers. So, I'll be growing it a bit longer and then probably I'll chop it :D

Happy Thursday... one more day til the weekend. Hooray!

HAIR STORY // BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY'S

WHAT TO WEAR | Dress, Top Shop // Shoes, Jeffrey Campbell (buy here) // Sunglasses, Chanel
// Necklace, Tiffany's // Clutch, Alexander McQueen

Classic. Sophistication. Pearls.
Every time I think of pearls - I think of Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast of Tiffany's. So, today's first hairstyle is just that. Jenny was inspired by my pearl headband and decided to go from there. Sadly, since it was the two of us - I wasn't able to capture the step by step but in the next set we will have that. In the meantime, be at awe with Jenny's intricate hairstyle. She is the hairstyle guru. Also, she is a card-making whiz! She has a couple of card designs that's available for sale! Check it out here

BEAUTY // HAIR PRODUCTS

My hair. I'm embracing my waves/curls probably because I finally met a stylist that gave me tips on how to define the curls instead of just straightening it. I think my hair has reached the perfect length... where my curls can run wild and free. It seems like people seem to take notice when I was in France. Odd. But after I came back... everyone kept commenting on how long it's gotten and asked me what I did to it. Nothing. Nada. I just let it grow... it maybe the French connection. So what do I do to get this look? I usually air dry most of the time... but it seems like if I want to get the nice waves (see photo) I should really hair dry it but the only time I do that is when I'm about to go out and my hair is still wet.

I've used 2 products so far to enhanced my curls... currently I'm using this one from Kevin Murphy. It's doing it's job. So, I'm happy with it. It's much lighter than the one I used before. So, that's a plus. But both work the same way... I usually put a quarter-size on my palm of my hand and then just put it the wet hair and play around with it. Comb it. Then either I air dry it or just blow dry it. And then... I let nature takes it course. Then I straighten my bangs because my bangs is so out of control... and I also will look like a teenager if I don't.

until then,

Hair styled!

I just had to... pretty much out of spontaneity I decided to get a haircut last Saturday at Brennan Demelo (Adelaide & Spadina) and absolutely love it! Thanks D for the rec. I especially loved the stylist, Shauna! She's actually the first stylist I've seen that played around with the hair for a bit before doing any cutting and she gave a couple of options!

Now... back to the original subject! Why can't I replicate the style she did for me! She was giving me tips & it seemed easier enough! Do you guys have problems with repeating those simple steps your stylist gives you?
